Haverhill Rovers Football Club's Presentation Evening on Saturday 11th June 2005 started with chairman Terry McGerty congratulating manager Paul Goodman and his colleagues at Haverhill Fire Station on their bicycle ride from Land's End to John O'Groats for charity that had recently been completed. Over £8,000 had been raised so far and Terry McGerty handed over more than £430 donated by the football club. Terry McGerty also announced a major change in personnel at the club when, following a discussion between Paul Goodman and Neil Farlie, it was decided that Paul Goodman would be leaving his job as first team manager and moving into the new role as general manager with Neil Farlie becoming first team manager after his previous role as coach. Terry McGerty also thanked Paul Goodman and Neil Farlie for their efforts in the previous season. Terry McGerty also thanked the committee, especially Chris Rice, who had just left after 27 years, most of which were in the position of secretary; it was also mentioned that Chris Rice will still be supporting the club in person from next season. Terry McGerty praised Dudley Haylock for the good job he was doing on the club's pitches along with Keith Willis for his help as well. Terry McGerty also thanked Steven Esdale, Jane Beavis for washing the club's kits, Jenny and Ray Esdale (who had also recently left the committee) and the caterer for the evening who will be providing the sandwiches etc. for the club next season. New first team manager Neil Farlie then thanked Paul Goodman for the last season and stated that he was the reason for staying at the club and that he felt it was the right time to stay. Neil Farlie said he was also looking forward to the challenge and to restore pride in the club at the same time. Reserve team manager Peter Betts then thanked Paul Goodman for his help and the committee for its hard work, especially bar manager Sacha Shackleton. Peter Betts also thanked Neil Farlie for his excellent training sessions. Peter Betts commented on the fact that the side had finished higher in the league last season than the one before and this showed how the team were progressing and praised them for it. Peter Betts also presented the Manager's Merit Award to Craig Fletcher, who also picked up the Players' Player of the Year award after a contest involving Dave Mayes, Brad Deeks and Trevor David. Peter Betts' Manager's Player of the Year award went to Trevor David, who carried the youngsters with his experience last season. New general manager Paul Goodman then presented the First Team Top Goalscorer Award to Neil Cogger for his 16 goals last season before presenting the Goal of the Season trophy to Marcus Hunt for his chest and volley at Fakenham Town, his goal just pipping Neil Cogger's 40 yard free kick against Saffron Walden Town. Players' Player of the Year was between Roger Dourado, Dan Pilcher and Marcus Hunt but Marcus Hunt won by just the single vote with Supporters' Player of the Year finishing as a tie between Roger Dourado and Dan Pilcher. First Team Player of the Year was awarded to Marcus Hunt after Paul Goodman praised physio Neil Franklin for his work. Terry McGerty than asked for a present to be passed on to Lesley Rice for her efforts washing the kits last year before he awarded the Clubman of the Year award for Steven Esdale with Sacha Shackleton, John Linnane and Chris Rice all in close contention. First team captain Marcus Hunt then presented awards from the players to Paul Goodman, Neil Franklin, Derrin Brindley and Neil Franklin before Roger Dourado awarded a "worst haircut" award to Dan Pilcher.
