| MULBARTON BELLES | 1-5 | HAVERHILL ROVERS LADIES |
Haverhill made the long trip to Mulbarton on a cold Sunday afternoon, needing the wind to stay in the promotion hunt.
Things were to be made difficult even before the team arrived with six first team regulars unavailable. But, on a positive note, Aimee Rawlings was back and Emma Gregory made her debut after signing from Cambridge United midweek.
The first half started with Haverhill on top and it wasnt long before they opened the scoring through Kelly Taylor after good work by Rachael Mann down the right.
Haverhill continued to press and were creating chances freely, and it wasnt long before Sian Randall made it 2-0.
Mulbarton then, with only their second attack of the game, scored through a good cross into the box.
Haverhill then struggled for the next 5 minutes; however, the defence of Charlotte Halls, Zoe Klimcke and Bekki Smith handled it well.
Haverhill then lost Rachael Mann due to an injury and she was replaced by the energetic Karli Hammond who, after coming on, changed the game.
Haverhill then scored a thirrd through Aimee Rawlings direct from a corner.
Haverhill soon scored a fourth after some neat play by Kelly Taylor, who set Rachel Linsdell up, who finished well.
Haverhills fifth goal came a minute later after a 30 yard effort from Karli Hammond came crashing off the bar, Sian Randall slotting the ball in.
This was a devastating spell for 15 minutes that killed the game off. Haverhill then played possession football in the second half to see out the game.
Manager Peter Betts was happy with the result and delighted with individual performances of Charlotte Halls, who played her first full game after giving birth, Emma Gregory, who had an excellent debut game, and Stacey Spiers, who was in goal for the first time this season, who pulled off vital saves at important times of the game.
Haverhill Rovers would like to thank their sponsors, A&G Home Improvements.
