HAVERHILL ROVERS LADIES
5-1
CAMBRIDGE RANGERS

(League Plate Quarter Final)

Rovers played Cambridge Rangers in a cup for the second time this season and were out to reverse the score from the last time the two teams met.

With only 10 players Cambridge battled well, but it was Haverhill who had the upper hand in the first half and opened the scoring with only 5 minutes played, Sian Randall receiving the ball from Rachel Mann and beating the 'keeper with a low shot.

Aimee Rawlings then scored her first of the game direct from a corner before new signing Kirsty Lemon had a simple tap in from a well worked move involving Mann and Randall.

Rawlings made it 4-0 at the interval with the best goal of the game; she received the ball after playing a one-two with Lemon and hit the ball sweetly into the top corner.

The second half turned a bit scrappy, mainly from Rangers' frustrations, and tempers were raised but soon settled again when Rangers pulled a goal back direct from a free kick well taken by Lamaison.

Rovers completed the afternoon with their fifth of the match; player of the match Zoe Klimcke picked the ball up in her own half and ran the length of the pitch before her shot on goal was saved by the goalkeeper and Randall was on hand to score her second.

Haverhill meet Kempston in the semi -final on April 9th.
