BRENTWOOD LADIES
3-2
HAVERHILL ROVERS LADIES

Haverhill travelled to Brentwood needing all three points to keep in the promotion chase.

They started the game well and had a lot of early play, including a disallowed goal from Sian Randall.

But, with only 10 minutes played, Haverhill were ahead when Randall played a long ball into the box and Michelle Onley had the simplest of tap ins. The home team's assitant again flagged for offside but the referee over ruled him and the goal stood.

This game was full of controversy with, once again, poor refereeing.

Before half time Louise Anderson made it 2-0 to Rovers with an excellent display of skill when she rounded three players in a packed area before her that the 'keeper let through her hands.

Brentwood pulled a goal back before half time, Turner being allowed to walk through the Haverhill defence before beating the 'keeper.

In the second half Brentwood came out determined to win the battle and, as the challenges got harder, Brentwood were getting on top of the game and wearing the Rovers defence down.

Brentwood equalised half way through the second period when an unfortunate Haverhill defender slipped over in the penalty area and the ball was hit onto her hand; the referee once again got it wrong and awarded a penalty, which was scored from.

Rovers were deflated by now and had all but given up when again the defence was split and Brentwood took all three points with Mills grabbing the winner.

Player of the match was Zoe Klimke.

Squad : Hannah Robinson, Joy Morton, Bekki Smith, Zoe Klimke, Rachel Linsdell, Stacey Spiers, Loiuse Anderson, Sian Randall, Michelle Onley, Karli Hammond, Pavlina Beasley, Amy Fernard, Hayley Gamble.
