HAVERHILL ROVERS LADIES
2-2
STANWAY ROVERS LADIES

Haverhill played host to top of the table Stanway needing to win to stay in with a chance of promotion.

The first half saw a very tight game with neither team giving anything away, although Haverhill had the most chances on goal.

Louise Anderson failed to put away her chances when, on another day, she would have found the net with ease. The defence of Stacey Spiers, Zoe Klimke and Karli Hammond were solid and Stanway were frustrated at not being able to break them down.

The second half began with Stanway having the upper hand and taking the lead early on, a defensive error letting a Stanway striker find a way through the defence.

Haverhill replied halfway through the second period, Sian Randall lobbing the 'keeper with a great shot.

The visitors then retook the lead from the kick off.

Rovers battled for the equaliser, again Anderson failing to take her chances. Rachel Mann also failed to hit the target before Sian Randall scored the equaliser with almost the last kick of the game, getting herself between the 'keeper and a defender to slide the ball in the net.

This was a very entertaining game for the spectators and still keeps Rovers in the promotion chase with other results going our way.
