Haverhill Rovers Girls U12s were invited to a Whitton Sports Centre tournament for the grand opening of their new artificial pitch, which the Mayor of Ipswich opened.

The girls had to play six "round robin" games, winning 4 games and drawing 2 with goals comimg from Stacey Roper (4), Chloe Ellis (4), Charlotte Westrope (2) and Katie Schulz (2).

The 2 games they drew were against Bury Town, who they then went on to meet in the final, beating them 2-0 with goals from Charlotte Westrope and Katie Schulz.

Amy Hull, Alisha Jenkins, Evey Richardson, Melissa Pryke and Jessica Fox were the other girls that player for Haverhill during the tournament.

The Shield was presented to the girls by Ipswich Town player Darren Currie.

An excellent start to the new season.
