| HAVERHILL ROVERS GIRLS | 5-4 | HISTON HORNETS |
Haverhill Rovers entertained Histon in a game that turned out to be a good advertisement for girls football.
Both teams tried to dominate the game as they battled it out in midfield, putting pressure on each other's goals.
Ten minutes into the game Stacey Roper lost her marker and scored for Haverhill to make it 1-0.
Five minutes later Katie Schulz won the ball on the halfway line and ran on to score to double their lead.
Even though Haverhill were 2-0 up Histon were always good on the break; eventually one of these breaks resulted in a goal then, two minutes later, Histon had a corner and equalised. Game on !
Chloe Ellis scored two minutes before half time to make half time score 3-2.
A few changes were made at half time, Amy Hull, Emily Pollecutt and Jessica Fox coming on for Haverhill, but it was Histon who started to get on top of the game when they scored two more goals from corners to make the score 4-3 to Histon.
As the game went on Haverhill started to dominate the midfield with Charlotte Westrope winning vital tackles and the defence of Alisha Jenkins and Rachel Jeffs tightening up.
Ten minutes from the end Chloe had a shot deflected in to make the score 4-4.
Two minutes later Stacey hit the winning goal. Haverhill goalkeeper Evey Richardson who, in the last four games, has been virtully a spectator pulled off some vital saves to keep her side in the game.
