| HISTON HORNETS | 1-4 | HAVERHILL ROVERS GIRLS (U12s) |
Haverhill Rovers Girls travelled to Histon for the first round of this cup expecting the game to be tougher than the last few played.
The first ten minutes were very tight with not much between the two teams, Alisha Jenkins, Rachel Jeffs and Jessica Fox all holding firm in defence for Haverhill with Amy Hull and Emily Pollecutt coming on as "roll off" subs when some of the players got tired.
But it was Haverhill who scored first when Charlotte Westrope chipped the goalkeeper and scored.
Minutes later Katie Schulz scored from a long range effort, giving the Histon goalkeeper no chance.
Just before half time Stacey Roper netted to make the half time score 0-3.
In the second half Histon applied some pressure on the Haverhill goal, Evey Richardson pulling off some good saves.
Histon did eventually score to make it 1-3 but, five minutes from the end of the game, Chloe Ellis scored to make the final score 1-4.
Haverhill Rovers Girls U12s would like to thank Form Mould and Toolmakers for sponsoring them.
