| HAVERHILL ROVERS GIRLS (U13s) | 2-1 | WILLINGHAM WOLVES |
Haverhill Rovers Girls entertained Willingham Wolves in this cup match.
Haverhill only had ten players for this game and Willingham had most of the play for the first 15 minutes, although they found the Haverhill defence, with Evey in goal, hard to break down.
Rovers had some chances but not enough to trouble Willingham's goalkeeper so the half time score was 0-0.
In the second half Haverhill showed a lot of spirit and started to get on top and, ten minutes later, Stacey Roper scored.
The eleven players of Willingham put the Rovers defence under a lot of pressure and finally drew level to make it 1-1.
Willingham piled on the pressure but Amy, Alisha, Rachel and Katy stood firm and cleared their lines and, when Willingham did get through, Evey was quickly out and made two excellent saves.
By now the girls were tired with Molly, Charlotte and Shannon helping the defence out.
With a minute left Willingham attacked the Haverhill goal; Alisha won the ball and kicked it upfield to Stacey, who passed to Chloe and she ran on and scored to the delight of the crowd.
That was the last kick of the game and Haverhill won 2-1 with an excellent team effort.
