AZTECS JUNIOR
0-2
HAVERHILL ROVERS GIRLS (U12s)

Haverhill Rovers Girls made the short trip to Linton to play the Aztecs, who had been unbeaten for the last two games.

Haverhill started the game strongly with Katie Schulz threatening the Aztec goal with it taking three Aztec players to stop her runs on occasions.

The game was almost all Haverhill, but they just could not get the ball in the net as Aztec were defending very deeply.

At last, twenty minutes into the game, Stacey Roper scored to put Haverhill 1-0 up.

Aztecs rarely threatened the Haverhill goal with Rachel Jeffs standing in as goalkeeper for today's game and rarely touching the ball to make the half time score 1-0.

The second half was all in the Aztec end, Haverhill piling on the pressure with shots that defenders blocked or were saved.

On a few occassions Aztecs broke forward, but Alisha Jenkins, Jessica Fox and Amy Hull broke up their attacks.

Emily Pollecutt, Laurel Parry and Leah Goreham all pushed forward from midfield to try and get a second goal and, twenty minutes into the second half, Katie scored to make the score 2-0.

The Aztecs did have one chance when a forward broke forward and her shot hit the bar.

Haverhill Rovers Girls would like to thank Form Mould and Toolmakers for sponsoring them.
