| HAVERHILL ROVERS GIRLS | 10-2 | HUNTINGDON ROWDIES YOUTH |
Haverhill Rovers Girls travelled to Huntingdon Rowdies Youth to continue their fantastic run in the league, where they were still unbeaten, but Huntingdon started the better of the two teams and took an early lead 2 minutes into the game.
Straight from the kick off Katie Schulz and Stacey Roper played a one-two with each other and Stacey put the ball in the net to make the score 1-1
The next ten minutes were end to end with Alisha Jenkins, Rachel Jeffs and Jessica Fox working hard together by winning vital challenges in the Haverhill defence.
Alisha's pass to Katie allowed her to run up the field and score to make it 2-1 but, 2 minutes later, Huntingdon equalised against the run of play when a Huntingdon forward outpaced the defence and squeezed it pass Evey Richardson.
After that Haverhill Girls stepped up a gear and started to play some fantastic football, Charlotte Westrope and Chloe Ellis controlling the midfield, and it was Chloe who put Haverhill 3-2 up when Stacey had a shot that rebounded off the goalkeeper and Chloe scored.
Two more goals from Stacey made the half time score 5-2.
In the second half Haverhill did a few "roll on and roll off" subs with Amy Hull and Leah Goreham coming on, Amy scoring goal number six when Stacey passed to her and she turned and nutmegged the goalkeeper.
Huntingdon did have one more chance at the Haverhill goal but Evey made a brilliant save, turning the ball around the post.
2 minutes later Charlotte got on to the score sheet with an angled shot that found its way into the net.
By now the passing and movement of Haverhill was just brilliant.
Stacey scored another two goals, one being a cracking goal when she had a long range shot that the keeper didn't see, before Katie scored number 10 to make the final score 10-2.
Manager Steve Hull said that he "can't praise the girls enough; each week they just get better and better".
Haverhill Rovers Girls would like to thank Form Mould and Toolmakers for sponsoring them.
