On a cold and windly morning Haverhill played host to Burwell.

Haverhill started the brighter of the two sides with pressure on the Burwell goal, but not much to trouble the 'keeper as they shot wide due to the wind; Burwell, with one more player on the pitch, could not break down the defendce of Amy, Alisha, Rachel and Katy and, when the ball sailed over the defenders, Evey was on her toes to tidy up.

The score at half time was 0-0.

After the girls had a sweet break to get into the festive mood, as this was our last game of the year, they were all geared up for the second half and, with the wind with themm they attacked the Burwell goal.

For ten minutes Haverhill were based in the Burwell half, shooting from all directions, but still couldn't get a goal, the midfield of Molly, Shannon and Charlotte playing well in the middle to win balls from goal kicks.

Haverhill were awarded a corner, and as the ball came into the penalty area, a Burwell player handled and Haverhill were awarded a penalty, Chloe Ellis scoring.

Stacey and Katie also had a couple of shots, which the Burwell keeper saved.

Burwell did eventually get into the Haverhill end and, from a corner, the ball rebounded off some players and fell to a Burwell player, who scored to make it 1-1 and that's how the score stayed.
