| HAVERHILL ROVERS | 3-1 | HISTON XI |
Goals from Colin Vowden, Tom Shearer and Ryan Kent gave Haverhill the victory after former Rover Ant Blanford had given Histon the lead.
This came after a counter attack in the 6th minute, Blanford smashing home a cross from the left.
The hosts found an equaliser after 26 minutes from a corner on the right by Wayne Goddard, the Histon goalkeeper missing the ball and Vowden heading the ball into the goal off of a defender on the goal line.
Haverhill had a chance to go 2-1 up in the 48th minute when Martin Westcott was brought down in the penalty area; half time substitute Sam Green took the spot kick only to see it come back off the left hand upright and for his reaction header to go just off target.
His side found their second goal on the hour mark via a 25 yard free kick from Shearer, his effort left of the goal leaving the 'keeper scrambling across and unable to make a save.
The final goal came in the 72nd minute, the away goalkeeper's clearance only going along the ground and straight to Kent, whose mis-hit shot was enough to bamboozle the goalkeeper and put the ball into the bottom left corner.
Histon had a chance to grab a goal back from the penalty spot in the 79th minute after Paul Abbott was adjuged to have handled a cross from the left, Blanford stepping up and his kick going off the body of goalkeeper Arron Benstead, hitting the underside of the bar and going behind to his left.
