STANWAY ROVERS
2-0
HAVERHILL ROVERS

Two goals in the final quarter of an hour by Sam Newson gave Stanway their fourth consecutive home win.

The first half saw barely any chances for either side, Haverhill goalkeeper Ed Campbell pulling off a good save to deny Newson.

The opening Stanway goal came after 76 minutes after away defender Gareth Thomas missed a clearance and, following an interchange of passes, Newson slipped the ball into the bottom left corner.

This deflated the visitors and the second five minutes later effectively ended their chances of a comeback, Newson latching on to a ball forward and his well struck 20 yard volley on the run meant he again found the same corner of the Haverhill net.
