KIRKLEY & PAKEFIELD
0-1
HAVERHILL ROVERS

A solitary Nick Impey goal (the third consecutive game he has netted) just past half an hour was enough to settle this tie, Kirkley being unable to recover from a missed 17th minute penalty.

The hungry, pacey hosts were awarded a spot kick when Christopher Henderson flicked the ball back towards Ian Dawson in the penalty area, Marcus Hunt cruelly adjudged to have handled the ball for the award of the penalty; Daniel Stokeld, however, found himself denied by goalkeeper Arron Benstead, who parried the ball and then rushed to smother it before another chance could be created.

What proved to be the winning goal came after 31 minutes, Colin Vowden's high cross headed back across goal by Adam Ben-Saud and Impey's close range deflected off a defender and left home 'keeper Nathan Pauling unable to keep the ball out as he fell backwards and it hit him on his hand and leg en route to the net.
