These two teams will face each either in a replay at Hitchin after a goal each in the first 90 minutes of this tie.

The hosts opened the scoring after 25 minutes following a long throw by Wayne Goddard, the ball flicking of the head of defender Ryan Frater and Andy Palazon sliding in to put the ball past stranded goalkeeper Ricky Perks and into the right side of the net

The lead only last for a quarter of an hour, though, Carl Williams firing through a crowd of players to produce a good one handed save from home 'keeper Arron Benstead; unfortunately for Benstead the ball fell at the feet of Lance Gentle-King, who netted the rebound.

Chris Pringle had most of Hitchin's further chances but failed to score from any of them, Haverhill's best coming when Colin Vowden headed Joe Harvey's corner just inches wide of the upright.
