TIPTREE UNITED RESERVES
2-3
HAVERHILL ROVERS RESERVES

Haverhill faced a very strong Tiptree side on Tuesday night, the home side fielding 6 1st team players to bolster their side, and it was Tiptree who started the strongest and were 2-0 up after just 20 minutes.

Haverhill were at sixes and sevens for the first half hour of the game but plugged away and eventually gave themselves a lifeline when Ryan Kent slotted home after a superb run by Cody Frazier. A couple of half chances towards the end of the 1st half fell to Ben Cowling and Paul Jenkin but Haverhill went into the break 2-1 down.

Haverhill started the 2nd half in a totally different manner to the first, snapping into tackles, defending much better and hitting Tiptree on the break, but it was Tiptree who came closest to getting the first goal of the second half, a good header coming back off the crossbar.

Following this Jenkin, Kent and Cowling wasted great opportunities to get Haverhill's equaliser.

With 25 minutes remaining manager Peter Betts introduced Richard Heller, Paul Shaw and Lee Sharp, and the game was turned on its head as Haverhill made an onslaught onto the Tiptree goal.

Jenkin poked home from close range with 15 minutes remaining after Brad Deeks helped on Sharp's clever corner.

Then, with 5 minutes left on the clock, a through ball by Shaw saw Jenkin win all 3 points for Haverhill as he slotted the ball past the Tiptree 'keeper after a one-on-one.
