STANWAY ROVERS RESERVES
0-4
HAVERHILL ROVERS RESERVES

An excellent team display by Haverhill saw them achieve a convincing win over their opponents.

Returning striker Craig Smith opened the away side's account after 8 minutes, Andy Hughes' perfectly weighted through ball allowing Smith to place the ball wide of the advanced Stanway goalkeeper and into the bottom left corner with a neat finish.

On the stroke of half time a spot kick doubled Haverhill's lead after Craig Cutts had his shirt tugged in the penalty area, Hughes leaving the 'keeper completely motionless as his kick found the net.

Seven minutes after the break the score was 3-0 to the travellers, Ben Cowling releasing Cody Frazier down the left and his shot at the near post was pushed by the goalkeeper on to the post but, in a cruel twist of fate, it came off the post, into his back and then in to his own goal.

Cutts got on the score sheet himself with the final goal after 56 minutes when he fired between the goalkeeper and his near left upright after being played in by Frazier, although he did have to leave the game four minutes later with an ankle injury.
