Haverhill made it three games unbeaten in a row, winning two of them, as Norwich United were left goal less for the first time in seven league matches.

Both teams had good chances in the opening half, Tom Youngs toe poking the ball inches wide from close range for the away side, Louis Harper seeing his volley from just inside the United area being parried by goalkeeper Nathan Pauling and Shaun Banham having his shot out right touched on to the outside of the post and behind by Pauling.

The only goal of the game came in the 65th minute following a long throw by Ben Lawrence, the United defence switching off and Marcus Hunt letting the ball fall on to his head before steering it into the far bottom right corner of the net.

Pauling denied substitute Marc Abbott a goal with a good one handed save to his low 25 yard drive, the finish of the game being tentative as home 'keeper Dave Walton produced a good save to stop Youngs from equalising, Lee Hunter going down by the bye line attempting to retrieve the rebound and no penalty kick being awarded.
