FELIXSTOWE & WALTON UNITED
2-2
HAVERHILL ROVERS

These two sides shared the spoils with Haverhill twice coming from behind in an even battle.

Felixstowe first went ahead after 14 minutes when a cross from the right by Adam Hampson was headed back into the danger area by Tommy Childs, Andrew Claydon finding himself unmarked and able to head the ball into the bottom right corner past helpless goalkeeper Liam Cutts.

The equaliser for Haverhill came on 27 minutes when a corner by Harry Halls was partially cleared; Jamie Challis floated the ball back in and, with the Felixstowe defence static, Ben Cowling got ahead of 'keeper Ben Nower to cushion his header into the now unguarded net.

With 45 minutes on the watch Childs put the hosts ahead into the break when he beat Cutts at his near left hand upright with a fierce drive.

Five minutes into the second half Martin Westcott netted Haverhill's second equaliser, and the final goal, when Neil Hammond's header from a Challis corner was cleared off the line by Hampson only for Westcott to poke the rebound home.

HAVERHILL ROVERS RESERVES
1-2
LONG MELFORD RESERVES

Haverhill went down to a 2-1 defeat to Melford in a game that they could have won.

Haverhill took the lead after 3 minutes when Neil Green toe-ended a cross from Stuart Lillie into the Long Melford net.

However, they wasted further opportunities and were pegged back in the 36th minute as a shot from Carl Daws was turned in by Dan Manier.

Two minutes later Melford should have gone ahead but Manier somehow managed to miss an open goal and the half ended with the scores level.

In the second half Tom Edwards in the Haverhill goal was required to make a couple of fine saves before Dan Welch headed home a free kick to put the visitors ahead with half an hour remaining.

Haverhill pushed forward in a desperate attempt to equalise; Luke Stockings forced the Melford goalkeeper to make a fine save in the 75th minute and. with just 5 minutes remaining. Paul Hunt hit the post to leave the hosts with only three points to show from their last five games.
