at Exning United

Haverhill started their build up to the 2007/08 season with a good win over their fellow Suffolk opponents.

The first half ended goal less, although Russell Palmer had an effort tipped onto the top of the bar and a free kick pushed over by the Newmarket goalkeeper, a quick free kick from Newmarket almost bringing dividends for them.

The Haverhill defence managed to clear a Newmarket header off the line near the start of the second period before they took the lead in the 63rd minute, Lee Sharp's low shot going across the goalkeeper and finding the bottom left corner.

A free kick by Marcus Hunt doubled their lead in the 70th minute, the ball curling around the wall and past the unsighted 'keeper.

Andy Palazon then saw his ball across goal after 74 minutes go in off a defender to make it 3-0, Hunt's easy header in the 80th minute completing the scoring.

Newmarket also had a chipped free kick hit the top of the bar before the final whistle.
