NORWICH UNITED
0-1
HAVERHILL ROVERS

A single goal nine minutes into this match proved to be enough for Haverhill to record their first win in six games.

It came from a corner by Wayne Goddard, Colin Vowden heading the ball off the underside of the bar and Martin Westcott heading the rebound into the net and past 'keeper Ian Walker.

Nick Impey also came close for the away side when his initial shot was blocked and his rebound was cleared off the line by Steve Shipley.

Norwich's best chances fell to Nathan Page, who waltzed through the away defence before his shot was put behind by goalkeeper Arron Benstead, a 25 yard dipping volley that was just off target, a low shot beating Benstead and the far post and his effort after a 70 yard run going over the bar.

The hosts' closest effort came after 87 minutes, Matt Banham's acrobatic 15 yard scissor kick parried by Benstead at his near post to preserve the clean sheet for his side.
