| BOURNE TOWN | 2-3 | HAVERHILL ROVERS |
Haverhill's attempts to emulate their great F.A. Cup run last season started well with this victory over their United Counties League opponents,
They deservedly took the lead in the 13th minute when Matt Holland's attempted clearance was only at Paul Stokes, who put the ball past stranded goalkeeper James Doughty and into the bottom right corner.
Bourne caught their opponents napping, however, and netted twice in four minutes, the first coming after 18 minutes with their first attack, Tim Quy's cross only palmed by goalkeeper Arron Benstead onto the head of Ben Houghton, who nodded in the equaliser; the second came in the 21st minute when Houghton laid the ball across for a completely unmarked Johnny Currall to put the ball into the top left corner past the stranded Benstead.
Haverhill didn't equalise until the 61st minute, Marc Abbott chesting the ball under control before curling a 25 yard volley away from Doughty and into the bottom left corner.
The winner came on 86 minutes following a cross by Abbott, substitute Ryan Kent flicking the ball on and Richard Heller diving ahead of Doughty to head the ball into the net and his team into the Preliminary Round.
