HAVERHILL ROVERS RESERVES | 3-0 | HALSTEAD TOWN RESERVES |
Two goals from Shaun Banham, and one from Ryan Kent, helped Haverhill to a win against a Halstead side that had a total of 215 first team appearances between them this season.
The away side looked as if they would run away with this match until Kent struck after 22 minutes; Joe Harvey had his initial shot blocked and he then squared the ball to Banham who, under a heavy challenge, managed to roll the ball towards the unguarded net and Kent made sure that his side took the lead.
Kent also stopped a Halstead effort on his own goal line four minutes after the break before Banham scored his first goal in the 58th minute, Andy Hughes curling a free kick away from goalkeeper Ed Wooten and Banham floating his header across goal and into the top right corner.
His second came five minutes later when he twisted two defenders inside out before finding the far bottom right corner of the net with a well placed shot.
Halstead substitute Steve Daly was also sent off due to violent conduct in the 82nd minute.
