HAVERHILL ROVERS | 2-1 | AFC SUDBURY |
Haverhill made it two in two so far pre-season with a decent win over this Sudbury side.
The hosts found it hard to breakthrough their opponents' defence early on, Harper's two shots being the only of note and both being saved.
After the break the introduction of Shaun Banham up front helped his side take a 2-0 lead, Harper's shot ball forward finding Banham going across the six yard box on the hour mark; he controlled the ball before laying it back across for Lee Salmons to beat the defender and score his first goal the home side. Banham then came off the shoulder of the last defender to latch on to a ball through by Harper before rounding the goalkeeper and doubling his side's lead six minutes later.
Sudbury netted what was a consolation goal four minutes from time when, following a counter attack, Lee Pallot got behind the Haverhill defence before finishing past half time substitute Matt Morrison.
