GODMANCHESTER ROVERS
0-1
HAVERHILL ROVERS

Haverhill got back to winning ways as Godmanchester were sent to their fifth straight league defeat via a 16th minute goal from Adam Salmons.

The goal came after a perfectly weighted through ball by Russell Palmer, Adam Salmons positioning himself to put a first time side foot past goalkeeper Alex Ramos and into the bottom left corner with a tidy finish.

Marc Abbott, Ben Cowling and Palmer also came close for the away side in the opening period but none were able to add to score, Chris Hyem and Paul Bass firing well off target in the hosts' best efforts.

The second half was almost a non event with neither side particularly threatening the other's goal; the best opportunities fell to the home side, although this was only when Chris Salter's awesome long throw was pushed over by Haverhill goalkeeper Alec Banthorpe.

The day for the home side was also worsened after 88 minutes when substitute James Hall was shown a red card for violent conduct.
