HADLEIGH UNITED RESERVES
0-2
HAVERHILL ROVERS RESERVES

Haverhill's first match for nearly four weeks saw them secure a welcome three points with victory over table topping Hadleigh thanks to goals at opposite ends of the game by Daniel Marshall and Ben Cowling.

They netted their first after 12 minutes following some good work and a hard head high cross from the left by James Walker, Marshall making a late run and catching the defence ball watching as his diving header put his side ahead.

Hadleigh's best chance of the half came just before the break, a deep free kick from the left looping over away goalkeeper Liam Cutts and hitting the inside of the far upright before being cleared to safety.

The goal that clinched the win for the away side came after 81 minutes after substitute Matt Crawley cut the ball back from the bye line; a scramble ensued in the six yard box and Cowling was the last person to get a touch on the ball as he steered it into the bottom left corner from close range.

James Walker also hit the outside foot of the far post in the closing stages for the travellers.
