Having defeated Stansted at Hamlet Croft on the First Round of this competition (4-1 on penalties after a goal by Dan Pilcher meant a 1-1 draw) Haverhill set up a final tie against the winners of Halstead Town and Bishop's Stortford thanks to a brace each from Sam Green and Richard Heller.

Green's first came in first half added time, Danny Shipton slipping in the Braintree defence to allow Heller to reach the ball, Green hitting his cut back first time from 15 yards out, low and inside of the near right hand post past the diving Harry Laskowski.

His second arrived eleven minutes into the second half from a flick on by Heller, Green putting the ball wide of Laskowski and into the net.

Green had the chance of his hat trick in the 81st minute after Heller was tripped in the penalty area; his penalty kick was tipped on to the post by Laskowski and, in the scramble that ensued, Green put the rebound just wide of the upright.

Heller then used his pace to get past 2 defenders and Laskowski to roll the ball into the net for his first goal, and Haverhill's third, after 83 minutes, Heller netting his second two minutes into injury time following a low cross from the left by Ben Cowling, Laskowski only being able to put the ball on to the foot of Heller and into the goal.
