WITHAM TOWN RESERVES
7-0
HAVERHILL ROVERS RESERVES

A tremendous and dominating Witham side inflicted Haverhill's biggest loss for several seasons, four goals from five efforts in 15 end of the first half minutes seeing them well onto victory.

Harry Halls actually hit the Witham bar midway through the opening period as both teams were pretty even until the first goal in the 32nd minute, Olly Murs defeating returning goalkeeper Dave Walton with a good shot to the near left hand post.

The second came two minutes later when Luke Hornsley provided a neat finish after Russell Palmer's misjudged defensive header, Tom Newson scoring the third in the 39th minute after he beat the offside trap, Walton getting a hand to the ball but finding himself unable to stop it going into the bottom left corner.

The fourth goal, in first half added time, was the best of the night, Rob King curling a free kick from the right edge of the area into the top left hand corner to leave Walton with no chance.

The three goals that came in the second half were all from cut backs, Lee Johnson (in the 57th and 87th minutes) and Murs getting his second in the 83rd minute with Haverhill's Russell Palmer receiving a red card after 64 minutes for his second cautionable offence to cap a bad day for his team.
