Haverhill's return to the Premier Division after a ten year absence started off well with goals from Marc Abbott, Richard Heller and a Marcus Hunt penalty helping them to take all three points from this match.

The hosts took the lead in the 11th minute, Paul Stokes giving the ball to Richard Heller; his ball across the 6 yard box missed by Adam Salmons but Abbott was able to slide the ball in at the far post from close range.

This was doubled four minutes later when Stokes again combined with Heller, the former heading the ball down for the latter to progress forward before hitting an off balance shot that creeped into the bottom left corner and past the fingertips of goalkeeper Chris Horton.

Wisbech pulled a goal back in the 66th minute following a James McManus free kick, the ball being headed towards the far post by captain Lee Day and Scott Cubberly heading the ball in from close range.

It wasn't until a minute into added time that Haverhill were able to confirm their win, Heller inviting a challenge from Day in the penalty area and being brought down, Marcus Hunt putting the spot kick low and just past of Horton.
