| HAVERHILL ROVERS | 0-0 | SAFFRON WALDEN TOWN |
Haverhill's eleven game winning streak came to an end as both sides fought out a goal less draw in a competitive match that was the prelude to the First Division Cup Final between the two sides twelve days later.
The hosts came closest to scoring in the opening period, Adam Salmons (after the ball seemed to take an age to come down) saw his poked volley pushed over by goalkeeper Kieran Badcock and, after his cross was palmed downwards by Badcock, Ben Cowling saw his first time effort collected by the recovering goalkeeper.
The second half saw both sides going close, Badcock pushing a header from Marcus Hunt around the foot of the post following a set piece by Joe Harvey and Badcock's opposite number, Alec Banthorpe, pushing substitute Matthew Clarke's 12 yard to poke behind for a corner.
Salmons was unlucky when his volley lob bounced over the Walden bar in the last decent chance of the game.
