HAVERHILL ROVERS RESERVES
4-0
TIPTREE UNITED RESERVES

Haverhill completed a quick double over their Tiptree counterparts with a fine display and a convincing 4-0 victory.

As usual Haverhill were quick out of the blocks and, after only 3 minutes, a fine cross from Ryan Kent set up Lee Sharp to give the hosts an early lead.

The game settled down into a dour midfield battle for the next 25 minutes with Haverhill only having a Ryan Holder shot to show for their hard work.

Tom Edwards, the home goalkeeper, was again in good form and produced a fine double save on the half hour mark to deny Ant Mills an equaliser.

The game was all but settled 7 minutes before the break when Edwards collected a cross and delivered a fine kick up field, which Sharp controlled and then drilled home to double his tally and the home advantage.

The second half was enlivened by the introduction of Richard Heller twenty minutes in. With what was literally his first touch he collected the ball on the edge of the penalty area, turned and then drilled it past Matt Belcher's right hand to make the score 3-0.

Cody Frazier then produced his customary piece of magic to make the score 4-0; collecting the ball on the left side of the pitch, he dribbled past two defenders, played a fine pass to Sharp and then collected the return to coolly lob the oncoming goalkeeper.

The result leaves Haverhill five points off top spot in the league, but with a significant number of games in hand on the teams above them and, with two semi finals to look forward to, they could be chasing three pieces of silverware as the season draws to a close.
