HAVERHILL ROVERS
0-2
NEEDHAM MARKET

Needham made it five wins out of five in the league as they inflicted Haverhill's second league defeat of the season through goals from Nathan Szyzszlyk and Danny Thrower.

Thrower fired just off target and Haverhill's Richard Heller having an effort saved before Szyszlyk opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour, Glenn Snell playing a one-two with Tom Smith from a corner and Snell's low cross was seemingly harmless as it went to the edge of the area, Szyszlyk connecting with an exquisite volley on the run that went right into the bottom right corner to leave goalkeeper Arron Benstead helpless.

What proved to be the winner came in the 68th minute, Thrower being played in and, with the home defence appealing for an offside flag that never came, Thrower put the ball under Benstead and into the net.

Home substitute Paul Stokes was played in on goal before the final whistle, his effort being diverted away from goal by the outstretched leg of 'keeper Liam Jones, Benstead pulling off two good saves to push away Mark Bailey's header from a corner by Thrower and then to put a shot from Smith on to the bar after Smith had dispossessed Marcus Hunt and was in on goal.
