Haverhill's 10 year absence from the Premier Division was ended with this result, their 3-0 lead in the opening 10 minutes pegged back shortly after the restart to set up a tense second half.

The hosts' first goal came after less than 2 minutes, Neil Cogger starting a run just inside his own half that saw him go past 4 players before putting the ball past goalkeeper Charlie Bradshaw from 15 yards.

The second came in the 4th minute from a corner by Cogger, Bradshaw being unable to deal with the kick and Adam Salmons netting with his head.

The third goal came in the 10th minute from a Cogger free kick just inside the March half, Marcus Hunt rising to head the ball over Bradshaw and into the net.

Salmons and Richard Heller also hit the woodwork before March pulled a goal back in the 43rd minute, Laurie Brand's ball into the middle setting up Mark Newton to volley unchallenged into the bottom right hand corner.

Two minutes after the break the score was 3-2, Luke Pepper's diagonal ball giving Brand the chance to volley into the far top right corner despite the hand of goalkeeper Alec Banthorpe.

March's cause was made worse in the 86th minute, Andy Bryan being sent off for his second cautionable offence as the hosts ended up winners and runners up in the First Division.
