HAVERHILL ROVERS
2-1
MAURITIUS SPORTS AND PENNANT

Three goals in the last quarter of an hour of this game saw Haverhill finish on top and make it four wins out of four pre-season.

The hosts came the closest to scoring in the opening period, Tom Shearer finding the net but the goal being disallowed for offside and Marcus Hunt coming close twice with free kicks on the edge of the area, his first hitting the near right hand upright and his second going just wide of the same post; Paul Stokes also brought a good save out of the Mauritius goalkeeper from 12 yards out.

With the home side concerned after Richard Heller was carried off five minutes into the second half their opponents fought back, hitting the Haverhill bar and flashing a shot just wide of the post.

It was Haverhill that took the lead after 77 minutes following a flick on by Martin Westcott, Ryan Kent putting his volley from the edge of the area past the full stretch goalkeeper.

Kent also had a shot pushed over the bar from a similar distance before Mauritius equalised in the 86th minute when a corner from the right was bundled home at the back post.

The hosts' lead was regained two minutes later when Shaun Banham got the ball after putting a defender under pressure and his cut back allowed Westcott to side foot the ball home.
