Bugbrooke won their sixth game in a row and secured their place in the Second Round for the first time in their history against a lacklustre Haverhill side.

They took the lead after 16 minutes following a poor back header by Paul Abbott, Phil Martin taking advantage to put his side ahead by beating goalkeeper Dave Walton at his near post.

This was doubled in the 79th minute when Adam Balme, two minutes after coming on, fed Martin, whose shot was parried and substitute Lance Allen found the net with the rebound.

Haverhill pulled a goal back when goalkeeper Steve Spruels palmed Ben Lawrence's long throw into his own net two minutes later, Bugbrooke restoring their two goal advantage on 83 minutes when the home defence were caught watching a high ball and Allen put his volley past Walton.

Sam Holmes netted eight minutes into added time after a long throw by Lawrence was fumbled in a crowd of players but it was scant consolation for the hosts.
